


Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) will be hosted
the 69th Tokyo Traditional Crafts Fair at Takashimaya Shinjuku Store.
This fair will features crafts displays, sales.
Please take this opportunity to touch the traditional crafts of Tokyo,
feeling it closely to the daily use, and to see various techniques which
have been inherited from generation to generation by craftsmen.

During the event, you can experience the outstanding handiwork of artisans who preserve the history of traditional crafts up close.

You can talk to the craftsmen who are demonstrating their craftsmanship.
A guide who can speak English will be provided, so international visitors are also welcome!

You can visit three or four booths at the Tokyo Traditional Crafts Fair, talk with the craftsmen putting on demonstrations and see introductions of crafts and the skills of the craftsmen. |
A series of Nagauta performances by musicians from the Nagauta Association will be held daily.
Enjoy the graceful melodies of early spring, and try playing the shamisen yourself after each performance.

Okayasu Kiyora
She has performed not only in Japan but also abroad, including on cruise ships. She actively conducts workshops at both Japanese and international schools, offering engaging opportunities to experience and learn traditional Japanese music.
Okayasu Kayo
Her father is the head of a branch of the Okayasu school, a lineage that has continued since the Edo period, and he is the sixth-generation Okayasu Kiyohachi. She made her
stage debut at the age of two and began studying under Kineya Rokusetsuji at fifteen.
Her career spans theater performances, live concerts, international appearances, and television and radio programs. She is also active in education, teaching cultural
courses and lifelong learning programs at metropolitan high schools.
Okayasu Yurika
She graduated from the Department of Traditional Japanese Music at Tokyo University of the Arts. While studying, she received the Jōei Prize, the Dōseikai Newcomer Award,
and the Acanthus Music Award.
In addition to her performance activities, she has appeared in the film The Fable, the Lumine Card commercial campaign, Nico Nico Chō Kabuki, the new kabuki production
Ryuhakurō Sansei, and stage productions directed by Suzuki Matsuo, including Go Go Boys and Ningen Gohasan.
Kaizu Shino of Touon
She is a Nagauta singer. She completed the specialized course in traditional Japanese music at the Tokyo University of the Arts.
She performs at concerts, school events, and Japanese dance productions across Japan. She places great emphasis on engaging with the audience, offering accessible and
thoughtful explanations during her performances.
Sato Sakurako of Touon
She began studying the shamisen at the age of three and completed both her undergraduate and graduate studies at the Tokyo University of the Arts. Based in Tokyo and Fuji
City in Shizuoka Prefecture, she performs a wide range of music from classical pieces to modern arrangements. She has appeared in numerous international performances,
including in Saudi Arabia, as well as on television.
Since 2022, she has been running the Agency for Cultural Affairs' "Traditional Culture Parent-Child Classes" and is also engaged in rhythm-based education for children.
Kineya Katsukunio
She studied under Living National Treasure Kineya Katsukuni.
In addition to her performance activities, she is involved in planning with the Kinekatsu-kai Foundation and has established her own school as a legal entity, the
Tamano-o-kai. Committed to preserving and passing on Nagauta, she devotes herself to refining her skills, training successors, and promoting the art form.
Kineya Katsukunimitsu
She studied Nagauta shamisen under Living National Treasure Kineya Katsukuni. She was granted the professional name Kineya Katsukunimitsu by the seventh-generation Kineya
Katsusaburō. Currently, she performs at various concerts, including those organized by the Kinekatsu-kai.
She is a member of the Nagauta Association and the Kiei-kai.
Kineya Sansumina
She graduated from the Department of Traditional Japanese Music at the Tokyo University of the Arts and completed her master's degree at the same university.
While at university, she was awarded the Jōei Prize. She has served as a part-time instructor at the Tokyo University of the Arts, as well as at the Faculties of Education
at Mie University and Chiba University, actively contributing to the training of the next generation.
Kineya Sannatsu
After graduating from the Department of Traditional Japanese Music at the Tokyo University of the Arts, she completed her master's degree at the same university. While
studying, she received the Jōei Prize and the Graduate School Acanthus Music Award. In 2013, she became a member of Nagauta Touon-kai and was granted the professional name
Kineya Sannatsu by the third-generation Kineya Sanzaemon.
In addition to her performance activities, she teaches shamisen to children through the Matsuo-juku Traditional Arts program.
Kineya Gokyo
She holds the title of Natori in the Kinego school of Nagauta. She graduated from the Department of Traditional Japanese Music at the Tokyo University of the Arts and
completed her master's degree at the same university. While an undergraduate, she received the Jōkan Prize.
As a Nagauta shamisen performer, she appears on stage and on broadcasting programs. She also leads the Gokyō-kai, teaching students at her private studio and at culture
centers. Currently, she serves as a part-time lecturer at the Tokyo University of the Arts.
Kineya Gosakichito
She holds the title of Natori in the Kinego school of Nagauta. She graduated from the Department of Traditional Japanese Music at the Tokyo University of the Arts and
completed her master's degree at the same university. While an undergraduate, she received the Jōkan Prize and the Ataka Prize.
In addition to performing as a Nagauta shamisen player, she actively teaches at her private studios in Tokyo and Aichi.
Yoshimura Kinshu
She was granted the professional name Yoshimura Kinshu by the eighth-generation head of the Yoshimura lineage, Yoshimura Ijuroh. She graduated from the Department of Traditional Japanese Music at the Tokyo University of the Arts. She performs in concerts, dance productions, and appears on NHK television and radio programs. She is a member of the Nagauta Association and the Kiei-kai, and she leads her own Nagauta school, Nagauta Kinshu-kai.
Kineya Eikayou
She was granted the professional name Kineya Eikayou by the eighth-generation heads of the Yoshimura and Kine-ei lineage, Yoshimura Ijuroh. In addition to performing at
concerts and dance productions, she also provides musical accompaniment for theater and storytelling performances.
She is a member of the Nagauta Association, the Kiei-kai, and the "Association for Introducing Japanese Traditional Culture to Children.
Kineya Eikaho
She was granted the professional name Kineya Eikaho by the eighth-generation heads of the Yoshimura and Kine-ei lineage, Yoshimura Ijuroh. She studied under the third-generation Kineya Eijirō and performs in concerts and dance productions.
During the event, a stamp rally will be held to visit each traditional craft booth.
Visitors can see, hear, and touch the crafts, and collect stamps to enter a lottery for prizes.
