Hiromi Hirose

Ms. Hirose holds a Tokyo Umbrella product in her hand—a reward to herself for her hard work. Attracted by beauty she’d never seen before in an umbrella, as well as the smooth user-friendliness of these products, she made the decision to become part of the umbrella artisan world. At present, at MOUNT BLANC, she is engaged in time-tested umbrella-making, drawing on the unique texture of hogushi (loose) weaving—a traditional Japanese technique. With every stitch of the needle, she recalls the happy faces of her customers when they open their umbrellas. At times she may re-work a piece over and over again, until she achieves perfection, following in the footsteps of the masters.
